 HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that attacks the immune system, making it harder to fight infections and certain cancers. If left untreated, HIV can lead to AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome), a life-threatening condition. However, with early detection and proper treatment, individuals living with HIV can lead long, healthy lives.  

Many people living with HIV are unaware of their status because the virus can remain undetected for years without symptoms. Regular testing is the only way to know for sure.
